» Into the light | | http://www.nearfm.ie Presenter Paul Mangan First and Third Sunday 4.30-5.00 pm NEAR fm.101.6 Broadcast available through out most of Dublin City or on the www.nearfm.ie (live streaming) It is now just about 1 year since the launch of a new radio programme 'Into the Light'.As the name suggests we want to enable our listeners to move that bit closer to the plan God has for each and every one of us.The basis of that plan is that we can have hope in a changing world as promised in Gods Word (the Bible) whoich never changes. Our radio programme mission statement is to find a parallell and a transfer between what was written all those thousands of years ago and discover how relevant that message is today.Mankindss nature has not changed. If anything he or she may be even more aware of his or her need for direction and focus in a fast paced and changing world such as the one of today. Back ground Our programme was born out of our need to further develop Christian Radio programming at NEAR fm 101.6 A community Media Co-op where myself and John Manning have been working for the last 9 years presenting and producing 'Godtalk' a topical programme as the name suggests aimed at developing and exploring our audiences understanding of God and the purpose he has for each and every one of our lives and the ability he has to help us cope with any and every life situation we may encounter. This was under NEAR fm's Community Radio's committment and remit to religious broadcasting. » Life 93.1 FM, Cork | | http://www.lifefm.ie Life 93.1, FM, Ireland's first fully licenced Christian radio celebrated it's first birthday this week at it's studio's in Togher. The family friendly station plays a contemporary and an eclectic mix of old and new, Christian and popular music all under the slogan of 'Shining the Light over Cork'. Besides music, Life Fm, which is a recognised charity, covers a wide range of important topics for Cork's families, such as, local, national and international stories on it's many news and current affairs programmes, such as 'On the Level' which airs between 10 and 1 daily. Life FM also works very closely with local and international charities, such as Aware and Amnesty International. The station reaches out to people of all ages, taking on issues such as physical and mental health, drug abuse, suicide and poverty, in an effort to give hope to the young and not so young, in these uncertain times. Recently, in conjunction with the station's first birthday, staff of the station walked in the Saint Patrick's Day parade in Cork, where they marched with their yellow 17 foot 'Life FM blimp' and a 12 foot serpent which was chased through the streets of Cork by a Saint Patrick look-alike. Life FM is fast making a name for its self in the community, with it's coverage of sports, GAA, rugby and the stations special events guide 'Community News'. The programmes for children and teens as well as the life stories of staff and listeners have also proved to be a big hit with the stations listeners during the last 12 months. All of this is made possible with the help of over 30 presenters and more than 50 volunteers. The station broadcasts to all of Cork City on 93.1fm and is on air 24/7, 365 days a year. If you would like to find more about the station and to listen live online, you can find the station at www.lifefm.ie.
